UKeyboard Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

UKeyboard currently does not collect personal data through developer servers. It does not collect your keyboard input, contacts, location, photos, browsing history, search history, device identifiers, usage analytics, or crash analytics.

The app stores the following information locally on your device to provide core features:

• Keyboard mapping sets, including set names and key-to-Unicode-character mappings.
• The ID of the currently selected mapping set.
• Haptic feedback and sound feedback toggles.

Local Storage and App Group

To let the UKeyboard app and keyboard extension share the same configuration, these settings are stored in an iOS App Group container. Mapping sets are stored as JSON files on your device, while toggle states and the selected set ID are stored in App Group UserDefaults.

UKeyboard does not upload this data to developer servers. Deleting the app usually removes the app and its local data; you can also delete mapping sets inside the app.

Keyboard “Allow Full Access”

The UKeyboard keyboard extension may request iOS “Allow Full Access.” When enabled, the keyboard can read mapping sets stored in the App Group and enable haptic feedback, sound feedback, and mapping set switching.

Even with “Allow Full Access” enabled, UKeyboard does not send your keyboard input to developer servers. iOS may automatically switch back to the system keyboard when you type in sensitive fields such as passwords; this is Apple’s security protection for custom keyboards.

Import, Export, and Shared Files

UKeyboard supports importing and exporting mapping sets as .ukmset files. Exported files include the mapping set name and key mappings. A file is provided to other apps or contacts only when you actively share it through the system share sheet.

Third-Party Services and Feedback

UKeyboard provides a Telegram group link for feedback. When you tap that link and leave UKeyboard, Telegram or your browser processes related data under its own privacy policy. UKeyboard does not control how third-party services handle data.

Children’s Privacy

UKeyboard does not collect personal data from children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe we may have received children’s personal information, please contact us using the method below.

Policy Updates

If UKeyboard’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date and related details. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the app page or release notes.
